I love having breakfasts outdoors :)
Long, long queue
Gino's is located along Market street in Fremantle, well in fact just a small distance away from Hush Espresso (the post I did earlier on). This typical cafe embodies a pretty unique style (contradicting, but you get the picture haha) - I adore the framed photographs displayed all over the interior, so mystical. When I visited for the first time I tried their lunch menu and ordered a chicken focaccia and a salmon panini but both were just average. Today I decided to give their breakfast menu a shot but nah, I don't think I'll come back to Gino's again.
Banana (!!!) pancakes with caramel and double cream
Firstly, ooh I miss banana so badly - why do they have to be so expensive in Australia :( Okay so the pancakes look good but the caramel actually tastes pretty bad. It tastes like artificial banana syrup you get when you buy cheap fruit candies, and it's too gooey and sticky to be even considered as a syrup. It ruins the pancakes which already are average (one side of the front pancake is slightly burnt! - boooo~), though the double cream is really fresh and smooth. They probably shouldn't drench the pancakes in the caramel sauce, but serve them separately instead. I think maple syrup will actually make a better pairing haha.
Ham, mushroom and cheese omelette with two buttered toasts
I love thick toasts with butter smeared on top of them, and the crust is so perfect! The omelette is average - though they were very generous of the mushrooms haha, (kudos!). I'd prefer the eggs to be less cooked because it's kinda dry as you can see. I sprinkled a lot of cracked pepper on top to add more flavour to it.
Gino's is always so crowded and the queue was so long it took me roughly ten minutes to make an order. I'm so disappointed with the food here because it's located at the corner of Market street - probably the most crowded junction in Fremantle and yet.. sigh. Mmhm I didn't manage to try the coffee because I didn't want to disappoint myself thrice, but you can always try it and tell me how it goes :p
